If you are wondering why this list isn't more extensive, remember that the point of this article is not only to flog my hard-won knowledge of matters poetically trivial, but also to inform you of readings that are egalitarian in nature and willnot go belly up in the next couple of years.

There are many readings throughout the Los Angeles area. A poet can check out www.poetix.net for a more comprehensive list, delve into the pages of the L.A. Weekly, recite poetry in the shower, or start a poetry reading on Second Life. But, I digress. It would take a poet lifetimes to get through the entire pantheon of the L.A.poetry scene, which, I dearly hope, will be flourishing long after I'm gone...either to the Bahamas, or to Paris, whichever one comes first.
